Colorado crowned in OzRoamer COTY

Whether you are heading for the beach, the bush or the building site, Holden’s Colorado has proven to be one of Australia’s favourite dual cab utes.

For work or play, its contemporary styling, rugged off-road ability, strong 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine and 3.5 tonne towing capacity has made it a winner.

But you don’t need to just take our word for it. The MY17 Colorado has taken out the 2017 Dual Cab Ute Award in travel, leisure and lifestyle website OzRoamer’s annual Car of the Year awards.

ozroamerNow in its seventh year, the OzRoamer COTY awards recognise the best in class across 14 categories, chosen by the website’s editorial staff.

“All the vehicles nominated in these awards are strong contenders and hold individual merit, however the winners highlight class-leading attributes and those that offer the coveted combination of outstanding design, functionality, performance and value for money,” says editor in chief Rob Fraser.

In a hugely competitive and increasingly popular segment, Fraser praised the Colorado for its robust and solid performance, excellent safety credentials and long list of original accessories that enable owners to create the exact Colorado they need.

“The MY17 Colorado is a substantial improvement over an already impressive product. Taking it on 4WD tracks is a breeze. It has plenty of control on your right foot, easily adapts to specific conditions and has plenty of grunt when needed,” Fraser says.

Put simply, he says: “The MY17 Colorado is currently the best overall offering in the segment.”
