NRL Holden Women’s Premiership makes history
We love rugby. Almost as much as we love encouraging diversity, and giving all Australians a fair go.
So we couldn’t prouder to be the major sponsor of this year’s inaugural NRL Holden Women’s Premiership.
“At Holden, we look for opportunities to drive change and encourage greater diversity and inclusion, both inside and outside of our organisation,”
“We’re focused on promoting positive role models for girls and women and the Premiership ahead is a perfect extension of our existing partnership with the NRL.”, Holden Director of Communications, Anna Betts said.
Women’s rugby is fast, fun, and played with a whole new flair. No wonder it’s part of the fastest growing game.
Todd Greenberg, NRL Chief Executive went so far as to say “the formation of a women’s Premiership is one of the most exciting developments the game has seen.”
We love to be doing our part in bring more athletes onto the big stage, and to whole new audiences.
With four teams launching the inaugural competition, we’ll see the Brisbane Broncos, St George-Illawarra Dragons, Sydney Roosters and New Zealand Warriors competing to be the first women’s championship team.
But rugby fans have even more to look forward to.
We’re also proud to present the first ever Holden Women’s State of Origin match. It’s part of a stand-alone representative weekend in June.
“So it’s a big year ahead – and a really exciting year ahead – for our female rugby league players, as well as fans of our women’s game.” Mr Greenberg said.
We couldn’t agree more. So whether it’s running kids to practice, or taking the whole gang to the big game, or sponsoring the premier women’s rugby competition in Australia, Holden’s driving the game forward.
